DAVID O’FARRELL BSc (Hons), FCCA
Director – Accounts and Business Services
David has worked within the practice since the early 1990’s. David is a qualified accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), with over 30 years’ experience in accountancy and business advisory services.
David’s career has evolved within the accountancy practice environment and he predominantly works in and around the Cambridge and London areas, expanding through numerous business sectors, including hedge funds, Cambridge high-tech businesses and pharmaceutical firms.
RYAN BURKETT FCCA
Director – Accounts and Business Services
Ryan has worked within BCS for over 15 years and has achieved full AAT and ACCA membership.
Throughout his years working in the Management Accounting department at BCS, Ryan has gained a great deal of hands on experience in providing management reporting support and advice directly to businesses spanning a broad range of sectors. He specialises in providing day-to-day management accounting services and working with clients to further develop their internal accounting infrastructures. Ryan has varied experience including VAT, income tax and FCA compliance.
ROBERT SIMMONS BSc (Hons), FCCA
Director – Accounts and Business Services
Rob joined BCS in 2011 as a qualified professional and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He commenced his career at BCS as a Manager and is responsible for the overall management of the Year End Accounting department.
Prior to BCS, Rob gained experience within a wide variety of industries in both accountancy and audit roles, predominately in the East Anglian region. Whilst managing the year end sector, he also maintains a healthy balance of providing outsourced management accounting and taxation services to clients.
LLOYD WHITE BA (Hons), FCCA
Director – Accounts and Business Services
Lloyd joined BCS in 2011 and began studying for the ACCA qualification which he fully completed in 2014. After graduating with a degree in Accounting and Management in 2010 he initially worked in the personal tax department at Grant Thornton.
Lloyd’s BCS work now focuses his attention within a number of areas, particularly in the preparation of corporation and personal tax returns for our clients, as well as monthly management and year end accounts.
JACK BRAND MAAT
Accounting Manager
Jack joined BCS in December 2020 as an accounting assistant, He is AAT level 3 qualified. His previous role was in the accounting department of a management business that dealt with rural clients. Here, his main duties were bookkeeping and the preparation of VAT returns and management reports. His role at BCS includes bookkeeping and assisting with the management accounts for a range of clients.
Jack was promoted to an Accounting Supervisor in April 2022 and is continuing his studies with us.
CONNOR HEHIR MAAT
Accounting Manager
Connor joined BCS in April 2021 as an accounting assistant having completed his AAT qualification and is working towards his ACCA qualification.
Connor began working in practice in 2014, providing services across a variety of sectors and has a wealth of experience in
cloud based accounting software. Connor manages his own portfolio of clients at BCS, for whom he is responsible for
providing monthly management accounts, year-end accounts and company tax returns. Connor was promoted to an Accounting Supervisor in April 2022.
HENG DOU
Accounting Supervisor
Heng joined BCS in November 2018 as an accounting assistant. She holds an IPA qualification as a senior language teacher and is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin). She initially gained accounts experience in a previous role, assissting with all aspects of company accounts, reporting to directors and processing monthly payroll with an external payroll company. Heng is working towards her ACCA qualification. Her day to day work at BCS includes bookkeeping and assisting with management accounts for a range of clients. Heng was promoted to an Accounting Supervisor in April 2022.
FAHMID MILKY BA (Hons)
Accounting Supervisor
Having previously worked with BCS for over three years, Fahmid re-joined us in August 2022 as an Accounting Supervisor having gained additional experience. Firstly with a leading multinational biotech company where he acted as a management accountant for their UK operations and then within the manufacturing industry working for one of the market leading packaging manufacturing companies in the UK advising management of the day to day running of the business, month end cost analysis and budgets.
Fahmid is part qualified ACCA, with a degree in Business Studies. He is currently responsible for a diverse portfolio of BCS clients, preparing monthly management accounts, VAT returns, company tax returns and year end statutory accounts.
SHYAM PADHIAR BA (Hons)
Accounting Supervisor
Shyam joined BCS in November 2021 as an Accounting Supervisor. Shyam began working in practice in 2017 where his previous role was as a Senior Accountant at Silver Levene LLP, where he was responsible for a portfolio of clients in the Healthcare sector.
Shyam manages his own portfolio of clients at BCS, including producing statutory year-end and management accounts, company tax returns and supervising work within the Accounting team.
ALISTAIR FINLAY BA
Accounting Assistant
Alistair joined BCS in June 2018 as a member of our Payroll team and transferred to our Accountancy team at the beginning of 2019. Having successfully completed his degree in Economics, Finance and Banking, Alistair began his career as a Payroll Clerk at Darktrace, a global cybersecurity company where he gained both UK and international payroll experience. Alistair is now focusing on his accountancy career and studying towards the ACCA qualification.
OMAR MARSH
Accounting Assistant
Omar joined BCS in April 2022 as a trainee accountant having passed AAT level 2 and is continuing his AAT studies with us. Omar began working in practice in 2017 where his main roles included completing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and partnerships. At BCS his main duties are bookkeeping and preparing management accounts for a range of clients within his client portfolio.
MARJORIE MENDOZA MAAT
Accounting Assistant
Marjorie joined BCS in December 2021 having completed her Professional Accounting Technician Apprenticeship. She has completed AAT Level 4 and will be commencing ACCA studies shortly. Marjorie began working in practice in 2017 managing a range of bookkeeping and payroll clients.
At BCS, her role involves bookkeeping and assisting with management accounts for a portfolio of clients.
Marjorie is fluent in Filipino and is currently learning French and Spanish. She also enjoys travelling.
BEN MENEZES BSc (Hons)
Accounting Assistant
Ben joined BCS in October 2022 as a trainee accountant having graduated in Finance. Ben began working in practice in 2021 where his main roles included completing accounts and tax returns for his father’s sole trader business. He is now studying towards becoming a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). At BCS his main duties are bookkeeping and preparing management accounts.
HANNAH TAN BSc (Hons)
Accounting Assistant
Hannah joined BCS in September 2021 as a Trainee Accountant having graduated in Accounting and Finance. She is a student member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Her role at BCS involves bookkeeping and management accounting work for a range of clients.
Hannah is proficient in Malay, and being fascinated by the barriers of language, she enjoys teaching herself British Sign Language in her spare time.
JOHN WHITE BA (Hons)
Accounting Assistant
John joined BCS in June 2023 as an accounting assistant with experience in industry and practice for 2 years. Prior before his experience he completed a degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Derby. He is now studying towards completing his AAT level 3 studies and looking to start the level 4 studies. His role at BCS is bookkeeping and preparing management accounts.
